On September 6 Western Australia will make a choice about its future.

A choice between a Government that is building our State and investing in services or a Liberal Party that will privatise them.

A choice between a Government that is protecting our natural environment or a Liberal Party that will mine uranium.

A choice between strong leadership and stable government or a hopelessly divided Liberal Party that simply is not ready to govern.

I say, don’t risk our future with a change of government on September 6.

Don’t risk our future with the Barnett Liberals.

Friends, our Government is securing Western Australia’s future…

By creating not just wealth but a wealth of opportunities.

By building not just infrastructure but better communities.

And by encouraging not just our skills and our knowledge but our spirit and our heart.

Because this is what good governments – what Labor governments – do.

We need to win this election so that Labor can continue the good work we started when we first won office in 2001.

And remember just what a mess we inherited from the Liberals back then.

An economy in decline.

An unemployment rate of seven percent.

And five budget deficits in eight years.

Under Labor, our economy has doubled in size.

We’ve created more than 200,000 additional jobs and have the lowest unemployment rate in Australia.

And we’ve delivered eight consecutive budget surpluses and invested every single dollar into building infrastructure that will serve our State for decades to come.
